After quite a brutal hack this is a new version of ipklondon.uk, not that I wantedto change it but problems were running so deep, so here we are. Not many of the links work yetas everything has to be rebuilt from scratch, hence the major overhaul.

Thinking of becoming a Radio Ham?
I will point you in the right direction within this site, from the things you can do holding a Foundation Licence where there
will be a dedicated page coming soon for the Foundation Licence
The RSGB
The RSGB is Britain’s National Radio Society, the proof is in the name “Radio Society of Great Britain” check out their website at rsgb.org.They have a monthly
magazine called Radcom which (I think) is a great read with news, views and different articles from all around the country. Their website is there to lend a
guiding hand should you need it. They can arrange exams there and point you in the right direction.

Well first of all I’m Terry 2E0IPK I’m a radio amateur from Dagenham 13 miles East of Central London.
Who am I?
I was first licenced when I took my Foundation in Feb2017, I also passed my Intermediate in Nov the sameyear.
When I took both my Foundation and Intermediate licences we had to sit practical assessments, then with the onset of Covid all practicals were dropped and now they’re not done at all, So there are no practical assessments or Morse Code testing these days it’s all questions and answers.I worked Holland from Dover White Cliffs using that Baofeng UV5R radio, Tropo was great that day, 100+ milles on a little 5 Watt radio, Perfect.
Why the new look?
I recently suffered a quite brutal hack, they got into everything and killed off my site, why would anyone do this? Who knows?I do nothing to hurt anybody, however people do a lot to hurt me. anyway enough of that, I don’t want any violins playing lol.I was thinking about changing the layout anyway so I thought What the Heck let’s do this, I couldn’t just alter it as all of the disruption stuff was still in the program so it had to be a new complete site, it also gives me the chance to refine it anyway. I won’t be including all of the pages I had before but will include everything that is important (like you see above with the EMF Calculator and the 100km Charing Cross Map)
Why the new look?
Essex Ham
I saw an episode of TX Factor that featured Chelmsford Amateur Radio Society and also Essex Ham, I contacted Pete M0PSX via email and he said come along to our Skills Night (Sadly gone now)So we went and thoroughly enjoyed it, anyway that being said I took Pete up on his invitation to join his online Foundation course, which I might add is excellent and very informative. You sit through each module and at the end of each of those modules you get a short questionaire. I sat through all of this on the run up to my proper Foundation course that Pete was also involved in.So if you want to get your Foundation Licence look to Essex Ham and that’s irrespective of where you live, being an online course anybody anywhere can take it. Just wanted to say that Essex Ham were a big influence on me when I needed it.
