This pic was taken on a regular
club night when they were
celebrating their 35th anniversary
well I think it was their 35th?
Sears is a nice little club in the Thundersley area of Essex,
it has been in existance for 30+ years and is run by good
helpful and understanding amateurs.
They have regular field days during the summer months
and let’s not forget that they run the very successful Canvey Rally every February.
They meet on the second Tuesday of the month in a nice little hall at
The White House, Kiln Road, Benfleet SS7 1BU, his is another of those clubs that
if you get the chance to visit them then do so.
Their first event of 2020 was successful (the afore mentioned Canvey Rally)
their first field event looks like being Rayleigh Windmill on the 10th May.
We were members there before but with work commitments getting there from
Dagenham was just too much of a rush, but we hope to visit them again soon,
and maybe they could visit us in Laindon too for a club night all things are
possible I suppose.
At both clubs we help people just starting out on their amateur radio adventure
and that will always continue, so remember Sears 2nd Tuesday of the month
and the Laindon Radio club on the last Friday of the month, newbies welcome
at both events.
St. Michaels Church, St Michaels Road, Daws
Heath, Benfleet SS7 2UW.
Every 2nd Thursday of the month 7-9pm
Apart from their Club net every day at 15:30/3:30pm on 145.325, they have a Club night
net at 20.00/8pm on the 4th Tuesday of the month on GB3DA, all licenced amateurs are
welcome to join them there
